All eyes on Brazil…
With the global spotlight on Brazil for the FIFA World Cup at the moment , we have our own touch of copacabana here at CIT with the staging of a CAMMS Summer School for a group of visiting Brazilian students.
The Students will complete a two month intensive programme in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Lean Sigma and Project Management with the aim of  empowering them to start their own Business or developing an entrepreneurial skill set to increase their overall employability when they return to thier homeland.
The students are really excited about this very unique offering and have consciously opted to pursue this program rather than return home to participate in World Cup fever !
The students have just completed a full academic year at CIT , pursuing studies in Environmental Science & Sustainable Technology ,Electrical Power Systems, Mechanical Engineering ,Architectural Technology, whilst also getting an opportunity to enhance their language skills and getting a  taste of the Irish culture !
The year has also offered them the opportunity to compare CIT’s  continuous assesment systems to the Brazilan model of theory first followed by practical later.
Mike McGrath, CAMMS Manager says “CAMMS are delighted to be able to host this very unique and exciting program for this group of visiting Students. Whilst this is the first time we have  staged a Summer School of this nature we are delighted with the opportunity and we hope that this initiative will become a regular feature in our calender ”

Student Bruna Gomide who is studying architecture and urbanism said “the course is great and everything we are studying is important to me for my future career when I return home. All the lecturers are really good and attentive to us.”
Bruna and his colleagues are hoping that whilst they are sharpening their enterprenuerial skills as the Summer School thier soccer Team will also be doing their country proud by lifting the World Cup !!  Time will tell !
